Carved 'Venus' older than Willendorf?

So old it's made of MAMMOTH tusk! Also, what was with the early Europeans being chubby chasers?

Fanboyish, Yet Useful.

Yes, I am a nerd. I have sold 90% of my Transformers collection on eBay but I couldn't resist falling for this transforming Ravage USB stick! Now I want to see a Soundwave iPo—oh wait.

Brief Jerky?!

Amazing and terrible all at once. A new twist on "beef curtains"
We joked about it long enough, it was time to make dreams come true! Please allow us to introduce our first EVER pair of beef jerky underwear we call BRIEF JERKY. Note the time and care that has gone into crafting this wonderful undergarment. The attention to the properly placed groments that enhance the wearers comfort! We've even "bedazzled" this pair and added our Mixed Species logo on the back next to a heart of rhinestones. All in time for Father's Day!

Oh, Etsy.

Digital Analog Digital Clock.

A Kafka-esque clock of clocks from who else but the Swedes. It makes me dizzy and fills me with anxiety, as time is an enemy mine.
Created by Swedish designers Humans Since 1982, the Clock Clock installation features 48 electronically-controlled analog clock hands which automatically rotate into the proper positions to form a giant digital display.

Crayon Rings by Timothy Liles

My first post-ICFF posting. One of the few new, interesting and fun things I saw last week at the show were these crayon rings by Timothy Liles. I got a black one. Now when I go out I can leave a path of destruction … like a four year old! They were being sold at the show for $5 each (2 for $10). Fun, cheap and whimsical.

Interesting Web Design Resource

Indexexhibit will help you design an online portfolio, website or other web-based presence. I like it. I want to use it.

Just Downloaded Blender. Overwhelmed.

Blender. A free, Mac-friendly 3D design/render/animate program is my new design frenemy. I am still trying to figure out how to navigate it but it seems like a powerful (and frustrating) tool. The website is a little bit too focused on silly animated characters rather than architecture/design applications, but I found some interesting interior renders. The interface is a little daunting but I'm gonna play with it!

Kane Kramer

This crazy British dude had the foresight to create and patent the ideas behind the iPod back in 1979! And he got a free iPod!!
In 1979 Kramer filed patents for his newly conceived Digital Audio Player, the IXI. The player was the size of a credit card with a small LCD screen and navigation and volume buttons and would have held data on a solid state memory chip with a capacity of 3:50 minutes worth of audio. 5 working prototypes were produced and one was unveiled in a trade exhibition in October 1986.
